Ivy Circle Stammtisch: New Location in February!

To keep it fresh, we will meet in a great new venue from February. Aposto offers hand-made pasta, pizza and delicious cocktails. It is also very easy to reach with public transport. We look forward to many interesting chats with new and not so new Ivy Circlers!

When: Last Thursday of each month (next one on Feb. 23, 2017), from 7:00 pm

Christmas Exhibit and Market hosted by Johns Hopkins Alumni

Enjoy a visit to the “Holy Night” Christmas exhibition at Liebieghaus on Thursday, December 8 at 7:00 pm. Following the exhibition visit, we will enjoy Glühwein and other treats at the Christmas market in the idyllic Liebieghaus garden. Friends and families are very welcome!

Location: Schaumainkai 71, 60596 Frankfurt am Main (Nearest tram station “Otto-Hahn-Platz”, lines 15, 16, 19; nearest U-Bahn station: Schweizer Platz, lines U1, U2, U3, U8).

Cost: Admission is 5 euros per person and covers visit to exhibition and Christmas market

Thanksgiving hosted by Princeton Alumni

The Turkey Dinner will be held at the Landhaus Diedert starting at 19:30 on Saturday, the 26th of November, 2016.

__ I plan to attend the annual meeting accompanied by __ persons in addition to myself.

__ I plan to attend the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner accompanied by __ persons in addition to myself. (Cost per person for the turkey menu is about 44 Euros. Students will receive a voucher for 30 Euros to help defray the costs of the meal.)

N.B. For those coming with public transportation, take bus no. 14 from the Wiesbaden main railway station to the bus stop “Graf-von-Galen-Strasse.”

Ivy Circle Stammtisch: New Location in August!

We will try a new location in August, a real German ‘Weinkeller’ with a lovely garden where we can enjoy the nice weather and a great glass of wine (or go in if it rains…).

This could be the first real Summer meeting of the year, we will keep our fingers crossed for a warm and sunny evening before we all head to the holidays.

EU vs. US Economic Prosperity, July 2, 2016

The MIT Alumni Club of Germany has generously opened their annual meeting, taking place this year in Frankfurt, to all Ivy Circle members.

The highlight is a high-caliber symposium organised jointly by MIT and the Ivy Circle: Distinguished experts from the ECB and the Goethe University, amongst others, will share their latest thinking on the European and US economies, and the path ahead.

When: Saturday, July 2, 2016, 11:00-13:00 (followed by lunch – included)

Tour of an Award-Winning Villa, July 15, 2016

The Cornell Club of Frankfurt is extending an invitation to visit Villa Marienquelle, the winner of the 2015 State of Hesse’s Preservation Prize. Listen to the architect and sculptor responsible for this magnificent revival explain the arduous process of renovation.
