December 11, 2024: Discussion with Yiannis Ioannou on “Shades of Greenwashing: Navigating the Spectrum of Corporate Sustainability”

The London Business School Frankfurt Alumni Club invites all Ivy Circle members to join Professor Ioannou for a frank discussion on corporate greenwashing and the spectrum of sustainability claims.

Ioannis will talk about his latest research on how companies navigate the greenwashing minefield – from authentic initiatives to dubious green marketing ploys. Explore the strategic drivers behind greenwashing, its impact on business reputation, and the challenges of spotting it. Bring your own experiences with corporate sustainability claims, good or bad. Ask Ioannis how to differentiate real environmental and social commitments from green/social PR stunts, or share your strategies for maintaining integrity in sustainability reporting and communications. Whether you’re battling greenwashing accusations or trying to build genuine green credentials, this candid talk will equip you with fresh insights on this critical challenge facing businesses today.

The cost is €15 per person. Dress code is business.

We thank Badr Harmak, Enterprise Project Manager and LBS alumn for hosting us at Allianz Global Investors’ offices in Frankfurt (Bockenheimer Landstraße 42 60323 Frankfurt am Main)!

LSE & Ivy Circle Rheingau outdoor networking event on June 24, 2023

Dear Alumni,

It is with great pleasure that we cordially invite you to join our first LSE & Ivy Circle outdoor networking event in the beautiful Rheingau winery region just outside of Frankfurt. This will take place in Eltville and Walluf on Saturday, 24 June 2023.

We will start the day with a networking lunch at 13 h at the restaurant “Anleger 511” in Eltville (www.anleger511.de), where we have reserved the sun terrace overlooking the river Rhine.

Thereafter, we will take a walk along the riverbank “Eltville Riviera” at 14:45 h, leading us to our final destination, the “Weingarten” (“wine garden”) of renowned winery J.B.Becker in Walluf (alternatively, the Weingarten is a 5 min walk away from train station Niederwalluf, which itself is one train stop away from Eltville).

During our networking and wine tasting from 15:30 h at the Weingarten in Walluf (www.der-weingarten.com), we will have ample opportunity to enjoy some great wines and even better conversations. The Weingarten offers an extensive by-the-glass selection of their highly acclaimed wine portfolio as well as some snacks and nibbles.

Please note: Anyone who is interested in exploring the village of Eltville prior to our networking gatherings, can meet us from 11:45 h at Eltville train station for a walking tour starting at 12:00 h through the old town and Kurfürstliche Burg with its famous rose gardens.

Please register – free of charge – by completing the registration form by Wednesday, 21 June 2023: https://www.vereinonline.org/LSEAlumni/?veranstaltung=75774 All expenses are to be paid for individually based on one’s own consumption. Places are limited to 30 participants and the event will only take place if weather conditions permit.

Trains between Eltville / Niederwalluf train stations and Frankfurt main station run every 30 mins and take just under 1 hour. Alternatively, travel by car takes little over half an hour.
